The UK’s rail sector is embarking on a period of massive change.
Franchising has gone and the sector is heading for what the Government describes as the biggest shake-up of the network in 25 years.
In parallel, major rail projects were announced in December 2020 as part of the long-awaited National Infrastructure Strategy.
With it came projections that 120,000 more people will be needed in the next 5-10 years, with warnings of critical skills shortages.
